Permission sets

System -> User -> Permission sets

Creating permission set

You can create a permission set by using Permission sets list, and executing Create permission set command:

  • Role — a role that is going to be used with the permission set.
  • Name — a unique name of the permission set.

Editing the permission set

The permission set card contains an individual set of conditions for a specific role.

Here’s an example of the permission set card for Project Management:

(1) — general information of the permission set:

  • Name — a unique name of the permission set.
  • Role — a role that is going to be used with the permission set.
  • Description — a short description.
  • Entity is active — makes the permission set active.

(2) Granular — a functional part of the system, a data area or an action (e.g. «approving the timesheet»).

(3) Data scopes («My projects», «Projects of my customers» etc.) If the feature defines permission for data access, the user is able to use separate areas (subsets, filtered data). Such approach allows more precise permission setting.

(4) Operations— operations regulated by permission. In our example, these are «Reading» and «Editing» (including «Deleting»). There’s only one available operation for action, i.e. «Execution».

In order to apply the permission set to the user, you need to set the user up.
