Report filters

Who can set or change the filter

Filters of the reports are personal settings of each specific user, thus every user is able to change the filter.

The administrator is able to create default filters for common reports and templates. In such case, the filter of the user will be changed to default value during the first opening of the report.

Filter settings

The filter setting form can be found on the report page:

(1) Indicator — shows the number of chosen criteria. The form with filters can be collapsed and expanded by clicking the indicator.
(2) Criteria — represents a chosen column and the filters. In our example, we have chosen three criteria.
(3) Criterion condition — it includes the value and the comparison operator. Various types of columns offer different sets of conditions.
(4) Add a new criterion.

Important! Criteria in the filters are combined with ‘AND’ operator, while conditions in the criterion are combined with ‘OR’ operator.

Adding a criterion

Click Add criterion and choose a specific column:

Unlike columns in the View Settings, the user is able to choose an entity in the filters, e.g. Project. The criterion for the entity column has to correspond with the chosen entity.

Adding condition

In order to add a condition, the user needs to move the cursor to Add condition and click it:

Deleting criteria and conditions

In order to delete a criterion or a condition, hover the cursor over [x] and click it:

Specific features of entity columns filtration

By default, when the user chooses a filter for an entity column, the system shows only active entities. In case if the user needs to choose an inactive entity (closed; e.g. archived project), he needs to enable the checkbox ‘Allow inactive entities selection’ in the right part of the filter settings form:

Saving and restoring filters in common reports

There are two commands shown in the filter form of the common report:

Save command is used by the administrator and allows saving the current filter settings ‘by default’. Restore button allows changing the current settings with the parameters chosen by default.
